In our fishing pond or in the IJssel river, you have the chance to catch different types of fish. For example, you could catch a catfish, eel, pike, perch, zander, barbel, asp, minnow, bream or carp. Did you know that the eel can survive outside the water for 24 hours? And that the largest pikes live in North America? The barbel does not give up easily, he will always look for the stones or obstacles on the bottom to try to get off the hook. The catfish is also not an easy catch. The largest catfish ever caught was in a river in Italy, the catfish was 109 inches long and weighed 317 pounds. Is a VISpas required, and how do I get one? ✅
For both the IJssel river as well as the fishing pond, adults and children from the age of 14 are required to have a fishing license (VISpas). You can easily order one via the internet: www.vispas.nl. Pet shop Pets&Co Berends in Twello is in the vicinity of our holiday park. It is also possible to purchase your VISpas here. The license is available for a year or a week. The annual card of the Deventer Fishing Association can be expanded with a night or a boat permit, or a permit for three rods, and gives access to the designated waters of the DHV. Recreation park and marina De Scherpenhof is located in Terwolde. Here you will find many facilities for young and old. From multiple swimming pools, sports and games facilities and a kids club to bars and restaurants and a recreational lake with a sunbathing area and sandy beach.
